Marlon Jeavons

Marlon began playing rugby at the age of 12 and played until the age of 17.
Marlon played for his school, Stantonbury Campus but also played with Bletchley Rugby Club and played for Buckinghamshire County.
One of my fondest memories of the great game was a tight battle against all odds.... When I first started playing for Bletchley there was no team  for  my age group so I was playing for the age group above me. We had an  away game at Royston, their team was known to be amazing and we really thought we had no chance.
To top it off was great British weather, gale force winds and raining sideways! Everyone in the team was dreading warm up let alone the game, but once the game had begun the ball seemed to be falling in our favour, we had won a few scrums against their bigger pack had a few referee decisions go our way. The pressure began to turn on the stronger side, Royston, and we took advantage running with the ball in the terrible conditions tackling hard and  coming away with a few trys! It was anything but a one sided game though as they were fighting back just as hard. But as the game came to a close we knew we had won and couldn't believe the effort the team had put in, it was a true underdog story.
The team gave it their all and we were all so proud of our achievement. The reason this game stands out for it was the first full game I had played in, before then only coming on for short periods as a sub, and i believe I truly cemented my name in the first 15. As there after I was a regular choice for my position and I don't believe it was because of my skill level it was to do with the great feat we managed on that hideous day in Royston.
