John Silk (1943-2013)
A valued and well-loved former player at Milton Keynes Rugby Club, John became Club Captain in 1977-1979 and oversaw the move from the old Furze Hodges, Wolverton ground to a new location at Field Lane, Greenleys and was still with the club when the move to the current Emerson Valley ground took place.
John was a former Chairman 1987-2003, becoming President in 2004 until his death in 2013. As well as becoming Club President John also held the position of President of Buckinghamshire RFU, at the same time, the only man from Milton Keynes to have achieved this.
John’s widow Anne has been a treasured supporter of the Club throughout her late husband’s association and continues to be a popular and well-respected supporter.
