Muddiman Cup

G.F. Muddiman Trophy

The match between Olney RUFC  (founded 1877) and Long Buckby RUFC (founded 1875) is the oldest continuing fixture in The Rugby Football Union (RFU) calendar.

The Long Buckby, Muddiman family donated the Muddiman Cup to this fixture in 1976 in commemoration of George Muddiman, Long Buckby’s most famous player who played for the Club for 34 seasons.

The trophy is fought for most years at Christmas and in 2015 is currently held by Olney RUFC.
